在经历“换肉”之劫时，陆千乔借用“贪官陆槐”的身份，与身负“克夫”命格、为破厄运而主动下山寻求冲喜的修仙者辛湄（王鹤润 饰）结为契约夫妻。本想在受刑后假死遁逃，从此与辛湄再无瓜葛。然而，看似柔弱的辛湄却在他“死后”孤身犯险，背着一把刀前往京城替他复仇、洗刷冤屈。辛湄此举引来了仙门的追杀，也让陆千乔被迫暴露了真实身份。因辛湄无法接受被骗而拔刀相向，陆千乔情急之下只能抹去她的记忆。但两人的命运早已被各自的执念和阴谋编织在一起，他们最终在崇灵谷再次相遇，并共同经历了“不朽丹”、“无双会”、“金光教”等惊险事件。在不断的生死考验中，他们从相互试探的假婚关系，逐渐萌生出真挚的感情，最终粉碎了金乌族的惊天阴谋，共同守护了人间太平。
