随着经济转型大潮来临，工厂走向衰败，三人被迫各奔东西。张小满为了追赶晓丹的步伐远赴日本谋生，端盘子、打黑拳，却遭遇骗局险些丧命，最终被遣送回国；严晓丹与夏雷考上大学，成为“沪漂”与“海归”，在都市中步步为营。历经离散与漂泊，三人顺应内心召唤重返家乡——夏雷带回技术救活分厂，晓丹设计文创园留住历史记忆，小满与叶春春（徐若晗 饰）在相互治愈中携手前行。他们从朋友到恋人最后成为没有血缘的亲人，将“子弟”精神融入血液，成长为有担当的家乡建设者。
