2058年，为了在长时间的太空航行中保证休眠的船员大脑不受损伤，一套名为“良梦”的人工智能系统被开发出来。在星际旅行期间，船员可以借助“良梦”系统沉浸在各自的梦境中，维持大脑神经细胞的活跃度。在一艘承担着国家外星农业科研项目的太空飞船“萌芽”号上，定期“起床”负责飞船检查“良梦”系统运行状况的“良梦”系统管理员徐天彪（王鹤棣饰），发现飞船在航行过程中遭遇事故，他不得不提前唤醒舰长李思蒙（宋茜饰），一同调查事故原因、探寻解决方案。在此过程中，他们不断携手穿越到其他船员的梦境，并最终发现，飞船遭遇的事故并非偶然，而是“良梦”人工智能和一位人类傀儡联手策划的阴谋。
